Full Description
A dense grouping of pits and postholes and two probable boundary ditches of Late Iron Age to Roman date, identified on land at Godseys Lane, Market Deeping, during geophysical survey in 2011 and subsequent trial trenching in 2014. Several of the features were intercutting, suggesting continuous use of the site. A small quantity of Late Iron Age pottery was recovered, along with animal bone and fragments of daub and fired clay. It is probable, given the paucity of finds, that this represents liminal activity on the edge of the previously identified settlement to the north (MLI81533). {1}{2}{3}
