Full Description

During a geophysical survey in 2014, a group of undated possible ditches and pits was encountered. Two of the ditch-like anomalies were on the same north-northeast to south-southwest alignment as nearby ridge and furrow remains and may themselves be the below ground remains of furrows. Another slightly curvilinear northwest to southeast aligned ditch is likely to be a former field boundary. {1} A subsequent programme of trial trenching was conducted on the same site in December 2014. A trench was placed to investigate the possible former field boundary and one of the nearby pit-like anomalies. Neither feature was encountered, though an undated possible drip gully was identified. {2}{3}
