Full Description
During trial trenching at Stamford and Rutland Hospital in 2015, skeletal remains were encountered in six grave cuts. Five more possible grave cuts were identified. None of the graves were exposed completely in the trenches, and the human remains were covered and preserved in situ. Two sherds of Medieval pottery were recovered while cleaning the surface of the graves. All of the burials were aligned east-west, and the one skull revealed during excavation was found at the western end of the grave. {1}{2}
