Full Description

A northwest-southeast aligned rectangular enclosure of Late Iron Age to Roman date on land to the west of Dalby Road, Partney, identified by geophysical survey in October 2017 and trial trenching in April 2018. It is suggested to be agricultural in origin due to the small number of artefacts recovered, possibly a stock enclosure associated with the nearby settlement (see MLI88651). Within and around this enclosure, a number of other pit and ditch features were encountered, including recuts of the enclosure ditches, suggesting prolonged use. {1}{2}{3}
