Full Description
A series of post-Medieval features were identified on land at Deep Lane, Hagworthingham during trial trenching and excavation in 2019-2020. Post holes and linear features presumed to be footings for buildings were encountered, as were shallow pits containing demolition material including ceramic building material, pottery and clay pipe fragments. These features were likely associated with the construction and later demolition of outbuildings for the nearby 'Bournes Homestead' seen on the enclosure award map of 1795. {1}{2}{3}{4}
