Abstract/Summary
Archive for a single 15 x 2m trial trench excavated within the proposed footprint of a new residential property on land at Deep Lane, Hagworthingham. Four small ditches and a post hole were identified. One ditch produced a single sherd of mid 11th to 12th century pottery, and the others were securely dated as post-Medieval, producing finds typically associated with 17th-19th century demolition activity. It was suggested that this may have been related to the demolition of the nearby 'Bournes Homestead' visible on the 1795 enclosure award map.
