Full Description

An L-shaped section of post-Medieval boundary ditch was identified on land to the south of Station Road, Sibsey, during geophysical survey in October 2013 and trial trenching in March 2014. A single segment of 19th century clay pipe stem was recovered from the fill of the ditch during excavation of the feature. It aligns with modern property boundaries immediately to the east, though it appears to pre-date them. The feature also does not appear on the 1st Edition 25 inch OS map of Sibsey, suggesting a possible earlier 19th century date. {1}{2}{3}{4}{5}
