Full Description

To the north of the Grade II Listed farmhouse at Holme Farm (see MLI96431) is a U-shaped range of domestic stables, open to the north. The range was of pink and yellow brick construction with bullnose corners, with a hipped pantile roof and a single stack at the south west corner of the building. A central access passage in the south gave access to the courtyard. Its entrance had a decorative flattened half round arch of brick. The building shows two or three phases of development. The earliest phase was the north-west aligned range now forming the West Range of this complex, which likely dates to the construction of the farmhouse in the mid 18th century. The South and East Ranges were added in the early 19th century, and a large tack room with fireplace and chimney were likely added later still. As of 2020 the buildings were in a ruinous state. {1}
