Summary

A ditch of Roman date on land to the north of Orby Road, Burgh le Marsh. Roman ceramic finds were also recovered from unstratified contexts nearby.

Full Description

The remains of an east-west aligned ditch of presumed Roman date were recorded in this location in July 2017, during a programme of trial trenching prior to the construction of a residential development. The ditch, tentatively dated to the Roman period, was identified in the northeast corner of the site. 1 sherd of Roman pottery were recovered from the fill of this ditch. Also recovered from nearby unstratified deposits were another 3 sherds of Roman pottery. {1}{2}
