Full Description

Former stable block, to the rear of and historically associated with 7 Lee Street, Louth. The block consisted of a cart shed and stable, with a hayloft above and a single storey tack room to the west. The stable, cart shed, and hayloft are likely to date to the construction of the house in around 1820, while the tack room appears to date to the mid- to late-19th century. A modern garage extension had been built to the west of the tack room. All of the buildings were constructed of red brick, under pitched gabled pantile roofs. The tack room had a tall brick chimney stack at its southern end. Most of the internal fixtures of the block, including brick feeding troughs in the stable, were still extant in 2018. The stables appear to have previously extended further to the north, but were truncated at some time in the latter half of the 20th century. {1}
