Full Description

Saxon Structural Features, Low Road, Grayingham During a programme of archaeological monitoring and recording at Croft House, Low Road, Grayingham, a series of possibly structural features which may date to the Saxon period were identified. Two of the features were identified as possible beam slots containing single fills. Both of these features were related to pits, which have been interpreted as postholes associated with the beam slots. One of the pits contained a fragment of mid-late Saxon pottery, which possibly dates the feature complex to this period. A Neolithic flint blade flake was also recovered from this pit. {1}{2}
