Full Description
The churchyard at the Church of St Helen is depicted on the 2nd edition 25" Ordnance Survey County Series map. It likely dates to at least the 13th century, when the church it serves was built (see PRN 41005). {1}
A small quantity of re-deposited, disarticulated human bone fragments were identified in the graveyard soil in June 2007, during archaeological monitoring of the excavation of investigative trial pits at the church. The remains were re-buried at the conclusion of the investigation. {2}{3}
