Full Description

Whilst not included in the detailed programme of historic building recording of the former farm building to the east (see PRN 49461), this group of former outbuildings at Grimblethorpe Hall Farm was briefly described in July 2016. The complex is thought to be of early 19th century date, constructed prior to the larger planned group of farm outbuildings to the east. The complex is comprised of a northern, two-storey range, with an attached single-storey eastern range. Early Ordnance Survey maps show an additional western range as part of the complex, forming a central crewyard area within the U-shaped plan form. It is likely that the complex comprised former stables, cattle shelters and various stores and crop processing areas. The buildings have been converted to be used as holiday lets, and appear to have been whitewashed fairly recently, hiding details of their construction materials. {1}{2}
