Full Description
The churchyard at the Church of St Mary and St Nicholas is depicted on the 2nd edition 25 inch Ordnance Survey County Series map. It likely dates to at least c.1300, when the church it serves is thought to have been built (see PRN 12821). {1}
Sherds of medieval green-glazed pottery and some medieval embossed floor tiles were found in 1965, while digging graves in the churchyard. Sherds of post-medieval pottery were also reportedly found on the west side of the churchyard in 1976. {2}
