Full Description
A scatter of redeposited Roman pottery was recovered in this area in 2010, during trial trenching on a field in the west of Ancaster, to the east of Pottergate Road. The pottery assemblage was comprised of a variety of different vessel forms, and was largely of greyware fabric, although 1 sherd of samian ware and 1 sherd of colour-coated ware was also present. Also recovered was a fragment of Roman tessera, and two pieces of Roman tegula. {1}
