Full Description

Former signal box at Old Leake Railway Station, which was on part of the Great Northern Railway's, East Lincolnshire Railway line, this part of which opened in October 1848. The box was still extant in June 1973, but has since been demolished. It was similar in design to the still extant box at Sibsey railway station (see PRN 49375), being of two-storeys and constructed of timber laid on a brick foundation. The roof was of pitched slate and there was an external staircase to the main room attached to the northern wall. {1}{2}{3}
