Full Description
A former station master's house at Kirton Railway Station. The station was on part of the Lincolnshire Loop line, which was constructed by the Great Northern Railway in October 1848. The building was of two storeys, with a two-storey extension to the north. It was constructed of red brick and featured a slate roof. A passage led from the north of the house to an enclosed courtyard and a number of attached single storey outhouses and sheds. Backing on to these were the station toilets, which were entered from the platform. The buildings were extant in 1966, but were demolished at some point before the Boston to Algarkirk Diversion road was constructed in 1991. {1}
