Commemorating those who died in the First World War, Stenigot war memorial is located in the churchyard of St Nicholas' Church at the south-western extent of Hall Lane. The 1923 memorial is a three foot (one metre) high rough-hewn granite Latin cross on a tapering plinth and single step. {1} Stenigot War Memorial was unveiled on 28 February 1923. It is located to the south of the church within the churchyard of the church of St Nicholas. The memorial is of rough-hewn grey granite on a low square base, an irregular granite block forms the plinth for a plain Latin cross. It commemorates five local men who died serving during the First World War and has not been adapted for the commemoration of later conflicts, and thus retains its original design intent.
