Full Description

These former outbuildings were the subject of a programme of building recording, conducted in November 2003 prior to their proposed demolition. The outbuildings formed part of a small complex of light industrial buildings and stores, built in a variety of materials and styles. These structures, to the south of the Market House, were thought to date from the mid to late 19th century, given their architectural style and depiction on historic mapping. Other outbuildings to the west of Market House were thought to be of 20th century date, and of less historic significance. Archaeological monitoring, conducted during the subsequent demolition of the outbuildings revealed only layers of late post-medieval made ground, indicating the site had remained undeveloped until the 19th century. {1}{2}
