Full Description

Tattershall Railway Station was on the Great Northern Railway Loop line, on the portion of the line between Boston (Grand Sluice junction) and Coningsby junction. It was closed completely on 17 June 1963. In late 1964 all trackwork and signals were removed from the station area but other signals nearby were uprooted and allowed to fall down the side of the embankment. The down side shelter and signal cabin were demolished by 1965. The former stationmaster's house was afterwards retained as a private dwelling (see PRN 48010). The Goods Depot was used in 1965 by a local firm for the storage of bagged products (see PRN 47708). The level crossing gates were removed by 1965. In 1965 the rear of the down side platform was fenced off with GNR cast iron railings, the weighbridge mechanism had been removed and no lamps or standards remained. {1}
