Full Description

The war memorial at Langtoft consists of a three-tier base supporting a Latin cross made of white stone, adorned with oak and laurel leaves and a facsimile Victoria Cross sculpted in relief on the top section. It is accessed by a flight of six steps and enclosed by low timber posts and a wrought iron barrier chain. The memorial stands near the entrance of St Michael's and All Angels' churchyard and honours those who died in the First World War and the Second World War. The exact date of unveiling is unknown; however it was during the early 1920s. {1} A First World War memorial with additions for the Second World War commemorating the men from Langtoft who died in those conflicts.
