Full Description
A buried soil layer of likely Roman date was recorded in March 2012, near to Ancaster House Cottage, during the monitoring of the excavation of a new electrical cable trench through Ancaster. A small assemblage of late 3rd century pottery was recovered from the layer, which was overlain by late post-medieval made ground deposits. {1}{2}
