Description

A programme of archaeological monitoring and recording was conducted during groundworks for new drainage and the construction of a new porch at St John the Baptist's Church, Whaplode Drove. The foundations of the 1821 church were revealed, along with a raft of wooden planks upon which it sat. No earlier features were encountered, although fragments of human bone were noted in the graveyard soil (but not retained). {1}{2}
