Description

Thirty-eight trial trenches (2% of the site area) were excavated in advance of proposed mineral extraction. A number of features which may be prehistoric in date, including a possible ring ditch and roundhouse, were uncovered and worked flints were collected. A small amount of medieval pottery was also present and this probably resulted from medieval agriculture i.e. manuring. {1}{2}
