Description

Two trial trenches were excavated on land at School Lane/Church Road in advance of residential development. This followed an earlier phase of evaluation (ELI4823) and revealed similar results. Several phases of archaeological activity were encountered including Late Saxon, Medieval and post-Medieval. Most of this activity was agricultural in nature, though some light industry of post-Medieval date was also noted. {1}{2}
