Description

An archaeological evaluation (trial trenching) was undertaken at Watergate Car Park, Watergate, Grantham in advance of residential development. Five trenches were excavated and revealed the remains of Georgian and Victorian period building foundations. Medieval pottery was recovered from beneath these foundations, indicating the survival of medieval layers in certain areas of the site. {1}{2}
