An archaeological watching brief conducted during groundworks for a new house at The Old Blacksmith's Shop, Saxby, identified numerous ditches and pits in the northern part of the site, but no evidence for structures preceding the post-medieval blacksmith's shop. No archaeological finds or features were identified in the southern half of the site where the excavations were shallower {1} {2}
