Trial trenching was carried out as part of a scheme of works prior to development. Eight trenches (numbered 9 to 16) measured between 10m and 25m in length by 1.6m in width. Trenches 10, 14 and 15 were extended to allow further investigation of features encountered. The aim of trial trenching was to establish the nature of the archaeological resource in order to formulate a policy for its management {1}
