Full Description

PRN 23793 During two phases of trial trenching in 2002, eleventh to fourteenth century pottery was recovered, and a buried soil was noted on the western side of the site, indicating that land west of the site was subject to settlement and agriculture in the medieval period.{1}{2}{3} During further excavations at Low Road (Area 2) a ditch was identified which may represent an agricultural feature peripheral to the settlement that has been proposed for the area west of the site.
