Full Description
PRN 23793
During two phases of trial trenching in 2002, eleventh to fourteenth century pottery was recovered, and a buried soil was noted on the western side of the site, indicating that land west of the site was subject to settlement and agriculture in the medieval period.{1}{2}{3}
During further excavations at Low Road (Area 2) a ditch was identified which may represent an agricultural feature peripheral to the settlement that has been proposed for the area west of the site. Further post holes were also identified which may relate to medieval or post medieval structures. {3}{4}
