Description

A programme of historical building recording was conducted to inform proposed alterations to The Old Rising Sun, Hagworthingham. The building dates to the mid 18th century, and was originally divided into two small adjoining cottages. These cottages were combined into one property in the early 19th century, when a rear service range was also added and internal alterations were made, and the adjacent former stables and workshop block was constructed. The building is believed to have been partially converted to use as a public house in the mid 19th century, but reverted back to a private residence in the 20th century. {1}
