Description

Following earlier schemes of geophysical survey (ELI14520) and trial trenching (ELI14521), targeted excavations were undertaken at Land at Chesham Drive in February and March 2014 in advance of a planning application for residential development on the site. An undated, probably prehistoric ring ditch was excavated, along with two phases of field system from the Late Saxon, and medieval periods. {1}{2}
