Description

A programme of archaeological monitoring and recording was undertaken at 28 Broadgate, Weston Hills, Spalding. The work was undertaken prior to a proposed development for the development and replacement of the existing dwelling. The monitoring was conducted at the foundations of the house and of the septic tank. The foundations revealed a series of ditches and pits, possibly forming enclosures or field systems that precede the post medieval farm house on the site, some of the ditches and pits contained sherds of 12th-13th century pottery. A brick lined well, associated with the farmhouse, was also uncovered. {1}{2}
