Description

Following a geophysical survey in 2018 (ELI14181), four evaluation trenches were dug at Land North of Doddington Lane, Claypole as part of the planning requirements for residential development, focusing on the northern half of the site. Three trenches recorded furrows, with one trench recording an undated linear feature described as a possible gully. The trench to the south of the site which was archaeologically sterile may have been sterile due to it being on the same orientation as the ridge and furrow in the field. {1}{2}
