Description

An archaeological watching brief was conducted during groundworks for residential development on land at Worth Court, Bourne. No archaeological features were identified, although a general spread of farmyard occupation material and debris was noted across much of the site, from which quantities of redeposited, late medieval pottery kiln wasters were recovered. Two fragments of late 17th century clay tobacco pipes were also recovered from the occupation debris, suggesting the redeposition of this material occurred in the later post-medieval period, when the site is known to have formed part of a former farmstead. {1}{2}
