A fluxgate gradiometer survey was conducted to inform proposed residential development on land to the east of Lincoln Road, Horncastle. Much of the site proved unsuitable for geophysical survey, and widespread magnetic anomalies clearly relating to the relatively recent horticultural use of this land were recorded. Traces of medieval ridge and furrow were identified, however, across several parts of the site as blocks of parallel linear magnetic anomalies. {1}
