A programme of historic building recording was conducted prior to the proposed demolition and replacement of the former house and outbuilding at 43 Main Street, Scothern. The house was thought to date to the late 17th or early 18th century, though it had been significantly altered on a number of occasions, including the raising of its roof to two storeys in the late 19th century. The outbuilding likely dated to the 18th century, though had been equally altered and extended. Both structures were demolished in June 2016. {1}
