A detailed magnetic gradiometer survey was conducted to inform proposed development on land off Wainfleet Road, Boston. A number of linear and curvilinear magnetic anomalies, thought to represent former field boundaries or drainage features, were recorded along with several possible pit-like features. {1}{2} Subsequent trial trenching in this area resolved the pit-like anomalies as being of natural origin, but confirmed the presence of a number of ditch or gully features, one of which was not identified during the geophysical survey (see ELI12633).
