A fluxgate gradiometer survey was undertaken to inform the proposed construction of a substation for a new windfarm on land at Hemswell Cliff. A large number of magnetic anomalies were recorded, including extensive areas of enclosure ditches, trackways and pit-like features, likely indicating areas of Roman settlement activity. The remains of a large area of probable medieval ridge and furrow was also identified. {1}
