Full Description
The remains of a large area of probable medieval ridge and furrow was identified in December 2014, during magnetometry survey of land at Hemswell Cliff. The remains were identified as parallel linear magentic anomalies, aligned on a roughly north to south axis in the northern half of the survey area, but on a roughly east to west axis in the southern half. The different alignments likely indicate a sub-division of the open field system used in the medieval period. {1}
