Description

A programme of historic building recording was conducted to inform the proposed demolition and replacement of the farmhouse and farm buildings at Poplar Farm, off Stow Park Road, Marton. Works to demolish the structures had already begun before the recording could commence, and parts of the structures could not be investigated in detail, particularly the main farmhouse. The main buildings on the site are thought to have been constructed together, as part of the late 19th century 'High Farming' movement. {1}{2}
