Description

Three trial trenches were excavated on the site of the former Lord Nelson Pub, prior to the proposed construction of a new shop. A fragment of wall footing and possible yard surface with associated 19th century finds of pottery and animal bone was recorded, indicating likely post-medieval occupation of the site prior to the construction of the pub. {1}{2}
