Abstract/Summary

Archive for the archaeological watching brief, conducted during groundworks for the installation of a replacement gas pipeline between Trusthorpe and Candlesby. A number of archaeological features and find scatters were recorded across the pipeline route, including a section through the line of a Roman road near Skendleby, and a late Neolithic or early Bronze Age flint scatter near Claxby St Andrew. Also identified were earthworks of medieval ridge and furrow at Ancroft Fen Farm, and a scatter of late medieval and early post-medieval pottery found on land off Asserby Lane.
