Description
The report on a programme of Historic Building Recording was undertaken on former farm buildings of Manor Farm, Silk Willoughby, prior to their conversion into dwellings. The surveyed area comprised on the northern and western ranges of the barns, as well as a outbuilding to the southeast of the two ranges. Mapping evidence shows the buildings were part of a larger complex of agricultural buildings that were demolished in the late 20th century. The northen range and outbuilding are the earliest of the buildings, with the outbuilding being part of the former eastern range of the complex that was demolished. The building evidence suggests three phases of construction, with the primary uses of this complex for threshing and stables.
