Abstract/Summary
The report on a programme of archaeological trial trenching, consisting of nine trenches, undertaken on land at Surfleet road, Pinchbeck, prior to a proposed development of 37 dwellings. The excavation revealed drainage ditches and a boundary ditch, dated to the medieval and post-medieval period. The ditches are thought to be associated with low-level agricultural activity of potential farmsteads in the area. Sherds of pottery dated from the 12th to 18th centuries, were recovered from the ditches.
