Archive for a programme of archaeological monitoring and recording conducted during the groundworks for a residential development and associated infrastructure on land at the former Ship Inn, 21 Bridge Street, Saxilby. A single pit of Saxo-Norman date and two Medieval features were encountered. Two sherds of Medieval pottery were also recovered from unstratified contexts. A large number of undated and post-Medieval features including post holes, a ditch and land drains, as well as areas of modern disturbance, were also noted.
