Abstract/Summary
Report regarding a trial trenching evaluation of 35 trenches undertaken between August and October 2014 north of Gorse Lane, Denton to inform a planning application for mineral extraction. Domestic and agricultural remains dating from the Middle Iron Age to the Early Roman period were recorded, along with evidence for lime quarry pits and a possible Roman lime kiln.
