Author/Originator
Date/Year 2016

Abstract/Summary

Archive for a programme of archaeological evaluation comprising seven trial trenches excavated on land off Harding's Lane, Partney, to inform the proposed construction of a residential development. The trenching revealed a number of post-Medieval features relating to the former rectory garden to the north of the site, including a possible "pineapple pit", popular in Victorian gardens for growing pineapples in English conditions. Residual finds recovered included a broken Mesolithic flint blade and 13th-15th century Toynton Ware pottery.
