Abstract/Summary

Archive for a programme of trial trenching comprising thirteen trial trenches excavated on land to the east of Sleaford Road, Metheringham, to inform the proposed construction of a new residential estate. A Late Iron Age enclosure and associated features were encountered. The west and south sides of the enclosure ditch were encountered by the trenching. Within the enclosure, a post hole and several drainage ditches were identified, possibly suggesting the presence of structures or related settlement activity. Further to the west, a single northeast-southwest aligned boundary ditch of Iron Age date was identified.
