Abstract/Summary
Report on a historic building survey undertaken to inform the proposed conversion of the former Methodist Chapel, Irby in the Marsh, into a residential property. The building is of red brick and has a pitched gabled slate roof. The roof tiles were replaced in the 2010s using reclaimed slate. It has brick hood mouldings above the windows, and slate sills. The windows feature tracery and there are numerous decorative butresses. The southern gable end has a course of decorative incised tiles with square fleur-de-lis patterned tiles above, and a stone cross on the ridge. Above the main double doors is an inscribed stone reading "Wesleyan Chapel 1889".
