Abstract/Summary

Archive for nine trial trenches excavated to inform the proposed construction of a new residential estate on land off Lincoln Road, Ruskington. East-west aligned furrows relating to medieval and post-medieval agricultural practices were identified across the entire site. A single small gully, aligned northwest-southeast, was identified at the west end of the site, and a linear ditch, curvilinear feature, and pit were identified in the southwest corner of the site. All of the features were undated. A number of ceramic land drains of 19th to early 20th century date were also recorded, and corresponded to geophysical anomolies seen in the earlier magnetometric survey of the site.
